A trucker comes into a
truckstop cafe and says, “I want three flat tyres, a pair of headlights and pair of running boards.”
Not wanting to seem stupid. he wait ss says to the cook This guy just ordered three flat tyres.a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards. Does he think this is a garage?”
            No the cook says. ‘Three flat tyres mean three pancakes, a pair of headlights is two eggs sunny side up, and running boards are two slices of bacon.’
‘Oh, she says. Then she spoons up a bowl of beans for the truckie. He looks befuddled.
“What are the beans for?
She replies, ‘I thought while you were waiting for the flat tyres, head lihghts and running boards, you might want to fill up on gas as well.

 a truckstop cafe and says, ร้านอาหารในปั้มนํ้ามันริมถนน

 

 “I want three flat tyres, ผมต้องการยางแบนสามอัน

 

a pair of headlights ไฟหน้าสองอัน

 

and pair of running boards.” แล้วก็ ที่รองเลื่อนเข้าไปใต้รถอีกสองอัน
Not wanting to seem stupid. ไม่อยากแสดงว่าไม่เก๋าหรือไม่อยากโชว์โง่

 

The waitress says to the cook, สาวเสริพ บอกกับพ่อครัว

 

 “This guy just ordered three flat tyres. ไอ้นี่เพิ่งสั่งว่าจะเอายางแบนสามอัน

 

a pair of headlights ไฟหน้าสองอัน

 

and a pair of running boards. แล้วก็แผ่นล้อเลื่อนเข้าไปใต้รถอีกสองอัน

 

Does he think มันคิดว่า

 

this is a garage?” ที่นี่คืออู่ซ่อมรถมั๊ง
No the cook says. ไม่ใช่ๆ

 

 ‘Three flat tyres ยางแบนสามเส้น

 

mean three pancakes, หมายถึงแพนเค๊กสามอัน

 

 a pair of headlights ไฟหน้าสองดวง

 

is two eggs sunny side up,หมายถึงไข่ดาวสองฟอง

 

( eggs sunny side up แปลว่าไข่ดาว Omelette แปลว่าไข่เจียว)

 

 

 

 and running boards แล้วกระดานเลื่อน

 

are two slices of bacon.’ นั่นก็คือหมูแฮมสองชิ้น

 

‘Oh, she says. ง้านเหรอ

 

Then จากนั้นต่อมา

 

she spoons up  หล่อนก็ตัก

 

a bowl of beans ถั่วใส่ชาม ( น่าจะเป็น Bake Bean เละที่ฝรั่งชอบกินกัน)

 

 for the truckie. ส่งให้สิงห์รถบันทุก

 

He looks befuddled. ซึ่งก็มองดูอย่างแปลกใจ

 

(befuddled  ก็คือ surprised นั่นเอง
“What are the beans for?  เอาถั่วนั่นมาทำใม
She replies,  สาวเสริพตอบว่า

 

“ I thought ฉันคิดว่า

 

while you were waiting ระหว่างที่คุณรอ

 

for the flat tyres, ยางแบน head lihghts ไฟหน้า and running boards,แล้วก็กระดานเลื่อน

 

 you might want  คุณน่าจะ

 

to fill up on gas as well. เติมแก๊สไปด้วยเลยจะดีกว่า
