Grim prospects

A wife goes to the doctor to get the results of her husband’s check-up.
“I’m afraid I have bad news,” the doctor says. “Your husband’s health is very poor indeed. If he continues at this rate, he probably only has a few months to live.”
“Oh no,” the woman says, dismayed. “Is there any hope for him?”
“Yes,” the doctor smiles. “Your husband has every chance for a long, happy life. However, the only way to improve his condition is if you cater to his every whim.”
“What do you mean?” she asks.
“You must not let him get stressed or upset. As his full-time carer, you must cook his favourite dishes, do his chores and make sure he has every creature comfort. He’s not allowed to do anything strenuous, such as mowing the lawn or cleaning house, so those tasks must fall to you. You must give him relaxing massages every day, and ensure that you give him oral sex and intercourse whenever he wants it. That way, you will have your husband around for many years to come!”

When she returns home, the husband asks his wife what the doctor said.
“I’m sorry, dear,” she replies. “He said you re going to die.”
