They believe in a literal apocalypse

Islamic State doctrine maintains that after the armies of Islam defeat the armies of Rome in Dabiq,
northern Syria, the countdown to the apocalypse begins. An anti-Messiah called Dajjal will rise in Iran and kill everyone except for about 5000 ISIS fighters, who will take refuge in Jerusalem. Then Jesus returns, kills DajIal and proceeds to lead ISIS to victory.
