A MOTORIST has been sitting in
gridlocked traffic on the M4 in Sydney for more than an hour when suddenly there’s a knock on the door. The driver rolls the window down and sees a man outside holding a bucket.
“What’s going on?” she asks.
“Have you heard the news reports? ISIS has taken every politician in Canberra hostage and is demanding a $50 million ransom. If the money isn’t paid within the hour, the terrorists are going to douse the lot with petrol and set them on fire. So we’re going from car to car, taking up a collection.”
“Wow, that’s crazy,” comments the driver. How much have you got so far?”
The collection taker holds out his bucket. “About 10 litres.”
