THE ART OF SELLING

     A  PASTOR  discover his church was in spot of financial trouble.

But while checking the church store room, he discover several cartons of new bibles that had never been opened and distributed to folk.

      So at his Sunday sermon, he asked for three volunteers from the congregation who'd be  willing to sell the bibles door-door  for $10 each to raise the desperately needed money for the church.

      Jack ,Paul and Louie volunteer for the task. The pastor knew jack and Paul earned their living as a salesman   and easily move some product.

      However, he has some serious doubts about Louie, a struggling high school student with a bad stammer.

Despite his misgiving, the paster sent them away with a ton of bibles and give them a week to sell the lot.

     the following Sunday, the pastor met with them. He asked Jack, " how did you go?"Proudly handing the holy man an envelope, Jack replied, " using my sale prowess, I sold 20 bibles , so here $200 ."

       " Find job Jack !" the minister said, vigorously shaking his hand. Turning to Paul and asked, " how many bibles did you sell ?

" I sold 30 bibles so here $ 300 ! " he declare with grin .

" That's absolutely splendid, Paul, " beamed  the pastor. " The church is indebted  to you.

         Apprehensively, he turn to Louie and asked, " did you manage to sell any bibles, young man ?"

         Louie handed him a large  envelope. The pastor opened it and counted  the contents. " What's this ? " he cried. " Louie , there's        $ 3200  in here !"

         The other were shocked by  this revelation, Jack said,

" how did you manage to sell that many bibles in a week? "

Louie  Stammered,   I-I-I--r-r-- r-eally- d-d -d- don't--know. "

Impatiently, Paul  interrupted, " just tell us what you said to the people when they answer the doors ! "

          "A-a-all  I-I- s-s-said  w-w-w -was, " Louie replied, w-w-would y-y-you ..l-l- like t-t-t-to b-b-buy th- th- this bible f-f- for t-t- ten  b-b-bucks -- o-o-or  w-w- would y-y-you -j-j-just l-l-like m-m-me  t-t-to s-s-stand h-h-here  and r-r- read i-i-it t-t- to y-y-you?"

         Apprehensively, เวลาตำรวจกักตัวผู้ต้องสงสัยไว้สอบสวน เขาใช้คำว่า Apprehend ส่วน คำว่า Apprehensively ในที่นี้ก็เหมือนกัน หวั่นใจไม่เชื่อใจ หรือเชื่อมั่นในตัว ลูอี้นั่นเอง   he turn to Louie and asked,หันไปทางลูอี้ แล้วถาม " did you manage to sell any bibles,หาทางขายไบเบิ๊ลได้มั๊ย young man ?" พ่อหนุ่ม

         Louie handed him a large  envelope.ลูอี้ ยื่นซองหนาปึ๊กส่งให้  The pastor opened it and counted  the contents.หลวงพ่อนับสิ่งที่อยู่ในนั้น " What's this ?อะไรกันนี่  " he cried.หลวงพ่อแหกปากร้องเสียงหลงตกใจ " Louie , there's        $ 3200  in here !"ลูอี้ นี่มันเงินตั้งสามพันสองร้อยเหรียญในซองนี้

         The other were shocked by  this revelation,ทุกคนช๊อคไปหมดเมื่อรู้ว่าอะไรเป็นอะไร Jack said, แจ๊คถามว่า

" how did you manage to sell that many bibles in a week? " ทำอย่างไรจึงขายได้มากขนาดนี้ภายในอาทิตย์เดียว

Louie  Stammered, ลูอี้ พูดตอบ ติดอ่าง    I-I-I--r-r-- r-eally- d-d -d- don't--know. "ผะ ผะ ผม กะ กะ ก็  มะ มะ ไม่ รู้เหมือนกัน . 

Impatiently, Paul  interrupted, ปอลทนไม่ใหว แทรกขึ้นมาว่า" just tell us what you said to the people when they answer the doors ! " เอาแค่บอกเราว่า นายพูดอะไรกับเค้า เมื่อ เค้าเปิดประตูออกมาก็พอ   (answer the doors หมายถึงเปิดประตูออกมาเมื่อเรากดกริ่งหน้าบ้าน)

 

"A-a-all  I-I- s-s-said  w-w-w -was, ทะทะ ที่  ผะ ผะ ผม พะ พะ พูดไป ก็แค่" Louie replied,ลูอี้ ตอบ w-w-would y-y-you ..l-l- like t-t-t-to b-b-buy th- th- this bible f-f- for t-t- ten  b-b-bucks คะ คะ คุณ อะ อะอยาก จะ จะ  ซะ ซะ ซื้อ  คัมภีร์ ไบเบิ๊ล ระระ คา สะสะ สิบเหรียญ  -- o-o-or หะ หะ หรือ  w-w- would y-y-you -j-j-just l-l-หรือ คะคะ คุณ อยาก จะจะ หะ หะให้ ผม like m-m-me  t-t-to s-s-stand h-h-here ยะยะ ยืนตรงนี้  and r-r- read i-i-it t-t- to y-y-you?"ละละ แล้ว อะ อะ อ่าน หะหะ ให้ คะคะ คุณฟัง.
