อยากรู้อยากเห็น

เรื่องนี้ก็ไม่ เลว มีศัพท์ให้จำแยะ มีวิธีการ
เขียนบรรยายดี มาดูกัน

I was walking down the street in front of an old
building when I heard a large group of people
chanting, “Six! Six! Six!” My curiosity got the better of me so I peered through a small hole in the fence.
Right then a finger
immediately poked me right in the eye. The people on the other side of the fence cheered for a second or two, then I heard them start chanting, “Seven! Seven! Seven!”

 down the street ไปตามถนน

in front of ผ่านหน้า

 an old building ตึกเก่าๆโทรมๆหลังหนึ่ง

when I heard ถึงตอนนั้นก็ได้ยินเสียงมาจาก

a large group of people กลุ่มคนกลุ่มใหญ่
chanting, ตะโกนเป็นจังหวะเหมือนท่องมนต์ (chanting แช้นติ้ง แปลว่าสวดมนต์ก็ได้ ท่องศัพท์แบบนกแก้วนกขุนทองก็ได้)

 “Six! Six! Six!” หก หก หก

My curiosity ความอยากรู้อยากเห็นของข้าน้อย (curiosity คิวริอ๊อสซิตี้ แปลว่า สอดรู้สอดเห็น ความหมายมีทั้งดีและไม่ดี หมายถึงเสือกก็ได้ = prying = intrusiveness เสือก = concern เป็นห่วงก็ได้ สุดแท้แต่จะไปอยู่ในเรื่องอะไร)

got เข้าครอบงำ

the better of me ความรู้สึกผิดชอบชั่วดีของข้าน้อย

 so I peered through ด้วยเหตุนี้ ข้าน้อยเลยแอบดูผ่าน

 a small hole รูเล็กๆ

Right then แป๊บเดียวเท่านั้น

a finger มีนิ้ว
immediately poked me  จิ้มออกมาทันทีที่ข้าน้อย

 right in the eye. เข้ามาในลูกตา

on the other side อยู่อีกฝั่งหนึ่ง

of the fence ของรั้ว

cheered ส่งเสียงเชียร์กันลั่น

for a second or two, ประมาณหนึ่งวินาทีหรือสองวินาที

 then ผ่านไป

I heard them ข้าน้อยก็ได้ยินเสียงพวกมัน

start chanting, เริ่มตะโกนใหม่ เป็นจังหวะ

“Seven! Seven! Seven!” เจ็ด เจ็ด เจ็ด
