สติแตก

เรื่องนี้ ศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษง่ายๆทั้งนั้น ลองพยายามอ่านดูว่าเข้าใจมากขนาดใหน 

Out of pocket
A university student home for holidays approached his father and asked if they could talk.
“Dad, I have to tell you something. I know this must come as a shock — I’m gay. Are you upset with me?”
The father grunted, “Not as upset as your mother’s going to be.”
“Why?” wondered the concerned guy.
“Do you think she’ll be angry?”
“Angry?” laughed the dad. “She’ll be bloody devastated. Now, she owes me a hundred bucks!”

แปลว่าเงินใหลออกจากกระเป๋า หรือ เสียเงินอีกแล้ว
A university student เด็กนักศึกษาคนหนึ่ง

home for holidays หยุดพักร้อนกลับบ้าน

approached เข้าไปหา ( หรือกระลิ้มกระเหลี่ย)

his father คุณพ่อของตัว

 and asked แล้วก็ถามว่า

 if they could talk. อยากจะคุยด้วยได้มั๊ย ( หรือถ้าคุยด้วยจะรู้เรื่องมั๊ยปานนั้น)
“Dad, พ่อ

I have to tell you something. ผมมีเรื่องจะบอก

 I know ผมรู้ว่า

this must come ไอ้นี่จะต้องทำให้พ่อ

as a shock ถึงขนาดช๊อคได้

— I’m gay. ผมเป็นเกย์

Are you upset with me?” พ่อจะโกรธผมมั๊ย
The father grunted, พ่อกัดฟันกรอดๆ

 “Not as upset as  ไม่โกรธเท่า

 your mother’s going to be.” แม่แกโกรธหรอก
“Why?” ไหงเป็นงั้นละ

 wondered ประหลาดใจ

 the concerned guy. ไอ้หนุ่มรู้สึกเป็นห่วงแม่
“Do you think พ่อคิดว่า

she’ll be angry?” แม่จะต้องโมโหแน่ๆใช่มั๊ย
“Angry?” โมโหแค่นั้นเหรอ

laughed the dad. พ่อหัวเราะออกมา

“She’ll be bloody devastated. แม่แกจะต้องถึงขนาดสติแตกแน่นอน ( bloody devastated แปลว่า สติแตก)

 Now, ตอนนี้

she owes me แม่แกเป็นหนี้พ่อ

 a hundred bucks!” ร้อยเหรียญแล้ว
