Size Matters

AN ELEPHANT is walking through the jungle when he meets a mouse coming in the opposite direction Neither of them having encountered a creature of the other species before, so they stop and look at each other with interest.
Finally, the elephant pipes up and asks, “Tell me, why are you so small?”
The mouse look up and answers in a resigned tone, “I’ve not been well.”

Size Matters ไซ๊ท์ แปลว่าขนาด แม๊ตเต้อร์ แปลว่า เรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับ... รวมกันแล้ว แปลว่า เรื่องเกี่ยวกับขนาด แต่นั่นมันคือ physically หรือกายภาพ... แต่ถ้าเป็น mentally หรือ imaginary คือทางจิต หรือจิณตนาการ ก็ต้องแปลว่า ขนาดมีความสําคัญนะจ๊ะ ไอ้พวกที่ขนาดเล็ก มันจะบอกว่า size does not matters ขนาดไม่สำคัญ มันอยู่ที่ลีลา คือพวกปลอบใจตัวเอง เหมือนที่คุณพิษณุ นิลกลัด นักพากษ์มวยไทย ที่บอกว่า เชียร์มวยตัวใหญ่เมียไม่ด่า เรามาดูว่า เรื่องนี้คืออะไร

a mouse หนูตัวหนึ่ง

a creature of  สัตว์ตัวเป็นๆที่

the other species before, ต่างสายพันธ์แบบนี้มาก่อน

 so they stop ด้วยเหตุนี้มันทั้งคู่จึงหยุด

and look at และก็มอง

each other กันไปมองกันมา

with interest. ด้วยความแปลกใจ (interestแปลว่าสนใจ นอกเหนือจาก ดอกเบี้ย หรือผลประโยชน์ )
Finally, สุดท้ายแล้ว

the elephant ช้าง

 pipes up ก็แปร๋นขึ้นมา

and asks, และถามว่า

“Tell me, บอกกูมาหน่อยจิ๊ว่า

 why are you ทำใมมึงถึง

 so small?” ตัวเล็กขนาดนี้
The mouse look up หนูตัวนั้นแหงนหน้าขึ้นมา

 and answers และก็พูดตอบ

in a resigned tone, ในนํ้าเสียงแบบหมดอาลัยตายอยาก 

(resigned แปลว่า ซิมจั๋งบ่อลัก หรือ ลาออก)

 “I’ve not been well.” กูไม่ค่อยสบาย
