                         Randy calls the cops and says, “I want to report my neighbor, John Smith. He’s hiding marijuana inside his firewood. I don’t know how he gets it inside those logs, but he’s hiding it there.”
“Thanks very much for the call, sir,” says the operator. The next day, the police
descend on John’s house. They search the shed and bust open every piece of wood with axes, but find no marijuana. They sneer at John and leave.
Shortly after, the phone rings at John’s house. “Hey, John, Randy here... did the cops come by?”
“Yeah!” exclaims John.

“Did they chop your wood the winter?” asks Randy. “Yep!” says John. “Merry Christmas, mate!”

         Randy แรนดี้

calls the cops โทรไปหาตำรวจ

and says, และก็บอกว่า

“I want to report  ผมต้องการแจ้งความ

my neighbor, เพื่อนบ้านผม

 John Smith. ชื่อจอน สมิท

He’s hiding มันซ่อน

marijuana กัญชา

inside his firewood. ไว้ในฟืนสำหรับเตาผิงไฟ

I don’t know ผมไม่รู้

 how he มันทำยังไง

gets it inside  ยัดเข้าไป

those logs, ในไม้ฟืนพวกนั้นได้

but he’s hiding it there.” แต่ว่าผมยืนยันว่ามันซ่อนในไม้ฟืนนั่นแน่นอน
“Thanks very much แท๊งค์กิ้วหลายๆนะ

for the call, sir, ที่คุณอุตส่าห์โทรมาบอก

” says the operator. พนักงานรับสายบอก

 The next day,วันต่อมา

1.   the police descend on ตำรวจก็ยกขโยงบุก (descend = make a sudden attack on  =  จู่โจม

 

John’s house. บ้านไอ้จอน

They search ตำรวจก็ค้น

the shed เพิงเก็บฟืน

and bust open every piece of wood

 และก็ผ่าฟืน ออกมาทุกท่อน

with axes, ด้วยขวาน

but find no แต่ก็ไม่พบ

marijuana. กัญชา

They sneer at John  พวกตํารวจพากันมองจอนอย่างเคียดแค้น (sneer แปลว่า มองแบบดูถูก  หรือมองแล้วยิ้ม ที่มุมปาก แบบอาฆาต หรือพูดจาไม่ดี)

and leave. แล้วก็กลับไป
Shortly after,หลังจากนั้นไม่นานนัก

 the phone rings  เสียงโทรศัพท์ก็ดัง

 at John’s house. ที่บ้านจอน

“Hey, John, Randy here    เฮ้ย ไอ้จอน กูเองแรนดี้พูดนะ

did the cops come by?” ตำรวจมาหรือเปล่าวะ

“Yeah!” มาโว๊ย

exclaims John. จอนพูดอย่างดีใจ

“Did they chop your wood แล้วมันผ่าฟืน

 For the this winter?” สำหรับหน้าหนาวปีนี้ให้มึงหรือเปล่า

asks Randy. แรนดี้ ถาม

“Yep!”  ผ่า

says John. จอนตอบ

“Merry Christmas, mate!” สุขสันต์วันคริสต์มาสต์ นะเพื่อน
