Rope a dope
       Ten men and one woman were trapped at the top of a burning high-rise. As they were about to be engulfed in flames, a rescue team arrived in a helicopter, flinging down a rope that all 11 people clung to just in time.
         As the helicopter struggled to climb away from the disaster, the pilot shouted to the group, “You’re too heavy for that rope. One of you is going to have to let go. If not, everyone dies!” 

Dismayed, the 10 men looked at the lone woman, who was clinging to the very bottom of the rope. 

“I vote she jumps!” yelled one man, and the rest of the guys voiced their agreement.

The woman sighed, then said, ‘4Fine. I volunteer to jump. You men work so hard all day and women are only good for staying home in the kitchen. I know my place, so I’ll let go to save you.”
At this, all of the men started clapping.

 for that rope. สําหรับเชือกเส้นนั้น
One of you หนึ่งในพวกคุณ
is going to have to จะต้อง
 let go. ปล่อยเชือกไป
If not, ไม่งั้น
everyone dies!” จะตายกันหมดทุกคน

Dismayed, ไม่พอใจ เซ็ง
the 10 men ชายทั้งสิบคน
looked at  มองไปที่
the lone woman, หญิงคนเดียวที่อยู่ในจํานวนนั้น
who was clinging ที่กําลังห้อยอยู่
to the very bottom of  the rope.  ร่องแร่งสุดๆที่ปลายเชือก
“I vote she jumps!”  ผมขอโหวตให้เธอกระโดดลงไป
 ( หมายถึงให้ปล่อยมือลงไป )
yelled one man, ไอ้หนุ่มคนหนึ่งตะโกน
 ( ท่ามกลางสายลมเปลวไฟที่โหมกระพือ ....อันนี้ผมเอง) 
and the rest และที่เหลือทั้งหมด
of the guys ของผู้ชายพวกนี้
voiced their agreement. ก็ส่งเสียงเห็นด้วย

The woman sighed, สาวคนนั้นถอนหายใจ
then said, จากนั้นก็พูดว่า
‘Fine. ดีเหมือนกัน
I volunteer to jump. ฉันยอมกระโดดลงไป 
You men  ผู้ชายพวกคุณ
work so hard ทํางานหนัก
all day ทั้งวัน
and women  ผู้หญิงอย่างพวกเรา
are only good for อย่างดีก็แค่
staying home อยู่บ้าน
in the kitchen. ทําครัว 
I know my place, ฉันรู้สถานะฉันดี
so I’ll let go ด้วยเหตุนี้ ฉันจะปล่อยมือ
 to save you.” เพื่อรักษาชีวิตพวกคุณไว้
At this, ถึงตอนนี้
all of the men ไอ้หนุ่มทุกคน
 started clapping. พร้อมใจกันปรบมือ
