วันนี้มาเรียนศัพท์ง่ายๆกัน พักผ่อนสมอง

An undertaker named Bob has just come home with a black eye. 

“What happened to you?” asks his wife. “I had a terrible day,” replies Bob. “I had to go to a hotel and pick up a man who had died in his sleep. When I got there, the manager said they couldn’t possibly get him into a body bag because he had this huge erection,” Bob explains.

Anyway, I went up and sure enough, there was this big, naked guy lying on the bed with a huge tent pole. So I grabbed it with both hands and tried to bend it in half.”
“I see, says his wife.
“That must have been awful, but how did you get the black eye?”
Bob replies “Wrong room

An undertaker สัปเหร่อท่านหนึ่ง
named Bob ชื่อท่านบ๊อบ
 has just come home เพิ่งกลับมาถึงบ้าน
with a black eye. ด้วยขอบตาที่เขียวมาข้างหนึ่ง( น่ารักเหมือนทาอายชาโดว์) 
 ( black eye แบล๊คอาย คือขอบตาเขียว ที่แปลว่า green eye ในภาษาไทย) 

“What happened to you?” อะไรเกิดกับแก...หรือ...  แกไปโดนอะไรมา 
 asks his wife. ภรรยาถาม
“I had a terrible day,” วันนี้ชั้นดวงไม่ดี
replies Bob. ท่านบ๊อบตอบ
“I had to go to ฉันต้องไปที่
 a hotel โรงแรมแห่งหนึ่ง
and pick up และต้องไปรับ
 a man who had died ชายคนหนึ่งที่ตาย 
 in his sleep. ตอนนอนหลับ ( เป็นโรคใหลตาย) 

When I got there, ตอนฉันไปถึงที่นั่น
the manager ผู้จัดการ
said บอกว่า
they couldn’t possibly พวกเค้าไม่สามารถ
(   couldn’t คือ could not = can not นั่นเอง แต่เป็นเรื่องเล่าที่ผ่านมาแล้ว ต้องใช้ couldn’t  คู๊ดเด๊นหรือ คู๊ดน๊อต)
 get him into จับเขายัดใส่
a body bag ถุงที่เอาไว้ใส่ศพได้
because เพราะว่า
he had เขามีอาการ
this huge erection,” จู๋แข็งเบ้อเริ่มเลย
Bob explains. บ๊อบอธิบาย

Anyway, อย่างไรก็ตาม
I went up ฉันเดินขึ้นไปข้างบน
 and sure enough,แล้วก็จริงอย่างว่า
 there was ในห้องนั้นมี
 this big, naked guy ชายร่างใหญ่เปลือยกาย 
 lying on the bed นอนแผ่สองสลึงอยู่บนเตียง
with พร้อมด้วย
a huge tent pole. เสาคํ้าเต้น อันใหญ่
( ตั้งตระหง่าน เป็น metaphor เม๊ตตาฟอร์ หรืออุปมาอุปมัย) 
So I grabbed it ฉันเลยจับมัน
with both hands ด้วยมือสองข้าง
 and tried to และพยายาม
bend it in half.” จับมันงอให้มาประกบกัน ( in half = หมายถึงจับมาพับให้เท่ากัน) 
“I see, เข้าใจละ
says his wife. ภรรยาบอก
“That must have been มันคงจะต้อง
 awful, ทุลักทุเลน่าดูซิถ้า

( สิ่งที่น่าสังเกตุ มากคือ คําว่า awful ออฟุ๊ล มันมีความหมายไม่ดี แต่อาจารย์ไทยบางคน ใช้สับสนกับคําว่า awesome ออซั่ม ซึ่งเป็นความหมายที่ดี เหมือนคําว่า อเมสซิ่งทํานองนั้น แถมยังชักจูงให้กูเกิ๊ลแปลผิดๆเละเทะ ทําให้เด็กไทยสับสนหมด ) 

but แต่ว่า

how did you get แล้วแกทําอีท่าใหนที่ไปได้
the black eye?” ขอบตาเขียวนี้มา
Bob replies บ๊อบตอบว่า 
 “Wrong room ฉันเข้าผิดห้อง
