ภาษาอังกฤษ มีทั้งคําๆเดียวที่แปลได้เลย มีทั้งที่เป็นวลีหรือประโยคที่เอาคํามารวมกันมีความหมายใหม่ ..แต่ส่วนมากจะเป็นประโยค หรือเป็นวลี ที่เราสามารถเลียนแบบเอามาใช้ได้เลย...การท่องจําศัพท์ หรือประโยคที่มีอาจารย์สอนที่เห็นกันดาษดื่น มันก็มีประโยชน์อยู่บ้าง แต่ไม่รู้ว่าเมื่อใหร่จะได้ใช้....แถมเจอจริงๆเข้า ก็ลืมเพราะมันแยะเหลือเกิน จําไม่หวาดไม่ใหว..จะเดินไปหาฝรั่งคุยด้วยจะได้ลองวิชา ก็หาไม่มี ศัพท์บางคําเราจะจํามันได้อย่างชนิดที่ไม่มีวันลืม จะต้องมีเรื่องราวมาประกอบ ที่สนุกๆ ทําให้จําคําศัพท์นั้นได้แม่นยํา ..อย่างเช่นเรื่องนี้ ..คําว่า reminisce เรมมานิ๊สที่แปลว่ารําลึกถึงความหลังเก่า ที่เป็น  reminiscing เรมานิ๊สซิ่ง ในเรื่องนี้ เพราะเป็นกิริยา ถ้าไม่มีเรื่องมาประกอบ ยากที่จะจําได้... ลองอ่านดูก่อนว่า เข้าใจขนาดใหน

The first lady recalls shopping at the grocers and uses her hands to demonstrate the length and
thickness of a cucumber she could
buy for a penny.
The second old lady nods,
adding that onions used to
be much bigger and cheaper
also and demonstrates the size of two big onions she could buy for a penny a piece.
The third old lady smiles and remarks,

 “I can’t hear a single word you’re saying but I remember the guy you’re talking about well.”

( remark = comment แปลว่า วิจารณ์เหมือนกัน แต่ รีหมาก จะไม่ลึกซึ้งเท่า คอมเม่น แล้วแต่คนจะเลือกใช้)

 “I can’t hear ฉันไม่ได้ยิน
a single word แม้แต่คําเดียว
you’re saying ที่เธอพูดกัน
but แต่ว่า
I remember the guy ฉันจําไอ้หนุ่ม
 you’re talking about ที่เธอกําลังพูดถึง
 well.” ได้เป็นอย่างดี
