Death cab
A Cabbie reached the Pearly Gates and announced his presence to St Peter, who looked him up in his Big Book. Upon
reading the entry for the cabbie, St Peter invited him to pick up a silk robe and a golden staff and head in.
A preacher was next in line and had been watching these proceedings with interest.
He boldly announced himself and upon scanning the preacher’s entry in the Big Book, St Peter furrowed his brow and said, OK, we’ll let you in, but take that cloth robe and wooden staff.”
The preacher was astonished and
replied, “I’m a man of the cloth. You gave that taxi driver a gold staff and a silk robe. Surely, I rate higher than a cabbie.”

St Peter responded, “This is heaven and up here we’re interested in results. When you preached, people slept. When the cabbie drove his taxi, people prayed.”

เรื่องนี้คือ หนึ่งในหลายๆตัวอย่างของคําถามที่ว่าทําใมคนไทยเรียนภาษาอังกฤษไม่รู้เรื่อง เรื่องนี้แม้แต่อาจารย์ที่จบปริญญาเอกของ มหาวิทยาลัยต่างๆในเมืองไทย ก็ไม่มีทางที่จะเข้าใจ หรือพยายามที่จะเข้าใจ เพราะความหมายมันลึกซึ๊งเกินที่อาจารย์พวกนี้จะรู้เรื่อง ทั้งที่ศัพท์ก็ง่ายๆ ลองอ่านดู ถ้าคุณเข้าใจ แสดงว่าคุณเก่งกว่าอาจารย์พวกนั้น

A woman walks into a Social Service office with 15 kids in tow.
‘Wow!’ the social worker exclaims. ‘Are they all yours”
Yeah,’ sighs the mother, having heard the question a thousand times before. She says. Sit down, Terry.’
The children rush to find seats.
Well, says the social worker, ‘I’ll need all of your childrens names
‘This ones my oldest — he’s Terry. And this is my youngest — she’s Teri.’
The social worker raises an eyebrow but continues writing ‘And here we have Terry and Teri.
All right! interrupts the social worker. I think I’m seeing a pattern. Are they all named Terri or Terry?’
‘Yes.’ says the mother ‘It makes my life easier. When it’s  time to get them out of bed and ready for  school, I yell, Terry! And when it’s time for dinner, I just yell Teri and they all come. And if I need to stop the kid who’s running into the street, I just yell ‘Terry!’ and they all stop.”
The social worker thinks this over, then wrinkles her forehead and says tentatively, “But what if you just want one kid to come, and not the whole bunch?”
“Then I use their surnames.”

The 18-year-old chick was getting ready to go on a first date when her granny decided to give some advice.

“But,” she said proudly, 1 didn’t let him disgrace the family. When he tried that, I jumped on top of him and disgraced his family instead!”
