The kids are definitely alright

LIL’ MEL came home from her kindy in New York City and told her father they’d learned
about the history of St Valentine’s Day.
“Since Valentine’s Day is for a Christian saint and we’re Jewish,” she asked, “will Yahweh get really angry at me for giving someone a Valentine’s Day card?”
Her father thought for a few moments, then responded, “No, I don’t think Yahweh would get angry. Who do you want to give a card to?”
“Kim Jong-un,” she answered.
“Whatever the hell for?” her stunned father asked.
“Well,” Lii’ Mel grinned, “I thought if a little Jewish girl could have enough love to give Kim Jong-un a Valentine’s Day card, he might start thinking that maybe us

Americans aren’t all bad, and perhaps start loving people a little bit.”
Her dad smiled and Lii’ Mel continued, “If other kids saw what I did and sent cards to Kim Jong-un, he’d love everyone  a lot. And then he’d start going all over the world to tell everyone how much he loved them and how he didn’t hate anyone anymore.”
The old man’s heart swelled with pride and he looked at his daughter with new found pride.
“LII’ Mel,” he said, “that’s the most wonderful thing I’ve ever heard.”
“I know!” she smiled. “And once that gets him out in the open, the good guys can shoot the living shit out of him.”

 told her father เล่าให้พ่อฟังว่า

would get angry. จะโกรธ

Who do you ใครหรือที่ลูก

 want to ต้องการ

give a card to?” ที่จะให้คาร์ด
“Kim Jong-un,”คิมจองอัน

she answered. เด็กน้อยตอบ
“Whatever the hell for?”ให้มันไปทำหอกอะไร

her stunned father คุณพ่อของเธอที่กำลังงุนงงสงสัย

 asked. ถาม
“Well,”เอาละ

 Lil’ Mel grinned, ลิตเติ๊ล เมล ยิ้มน้อยๆ

“I thought หนูคิดว่า

a little Jewish girl เด็กผู้หญิงน้อยๆคนยิว

could have สามารถที่จะให้

enough love ความรักอย่างเพียงพอ

“If other kids ถ้าหากเด็กอื่นๆ

saw เห็น

what I did หนูทำอะไรไป

and sent cards แล้วก็พากันส่งการ์ด

 to Kim Jong-un, ไปให้คิมจองอัน

he’d love everyone เขาจะต้องรักทุกคน

  a lot. อย่างมากเลย

And then และหลังจากนั้น

he’d start เขาก็จะเริ่ม

 going เดินทาง

all over the world ไปทั่วโลก

to tell everyone เพื่อที่จะไปเล่าให้ใครต่อใครฟัง

how much he loved them เขารักผู้คนเหล่านั้นแค่ใหน

and how he didn’t hate และเขาก็ไม่เกลียด

 anyone anymore.” ใครอีกต่อไปแล้ว

The old man’s heart หัวใจของคุณพ่อ

 swelled พองโต

with pride ด้วยความภาคภูมิใจ

 and he looked at แล้วก็มองไปที่

 his daughter ลูกสาว

with ด้วย

new found pride. ความรู้สึกภาคภูมิใจแบบใหม่
“LII’ Mel,”ลูกน้อยเมลเอ๊ย

he said, เขาพูด

“that’s นี่คือ

the most wonderful thing สิ่งที่วิเศษที่สุด

I’ve ever heard.” ที่พ่อเคยได้ยินมา
“I know!”หนูรู้

she smiled. เด็กน้อยยิ้มแก้มปริ
