            A pub landlord is shutting up for the night when there is a knock at the door. When he answers, a tramp asks him for a toothpick. He gives him the toothpick and the tramp goes off. Afew minutes later, there is a second knock.



            When he answers, there is a second tramp who also asks for a toothpick. He gets his toothpick and off he goes.
There is a third knock at the door, and a third tramp. The landlord says, "Don’t tell me, you want a toothpick too."

          "No, a straw," says the tramp. The landlord gives him a straw but is curious as to why he wants it, so he asks the tramp why he wants a straw and not a toothpick.

           To which the tramp replies, "Some bloke just threw up outside but all the good stuff’s already gone."

               A pub landlord เจ้าของผับหรือร้านเหล้า is shutting up กําลังจะปิดร้าน for the night ในคืนวันหนึ่ง คือเลิกขายแล้ว ว่างั้นเถอะ when พอดี there is a knock ได้ยินเสียงเคาะ at the door.ที่ประตู               When he answers,เมื่อเปิดประตูออกมา a tramp ก็พบว่ามีขี้เมาคนหนึ่ง( Tramp คํานี้ก็คือพวก Homeless ในที่นี้ ก็คือขี้เมา หรือ Wino นั่นเอง)   asks him มาขอ for a toothpick. ไม้จิ้มฟัน He gives him เขาก็ให้ the toothpick ไม้จิ้มฟัน and the tramp แล้วขี้เมาคนนั้น goes off. ก็เดินจากไป A few minutes later, สองสามนาทีต่อมา there is ก็มี a second knock. เสียงเคาะครั้งที่สองอีก

           When he answers, เมื่อเปิดประตูออกมา there is ก็เห็น a second tramp ขี้เมาคนที่สอง who also ไอ้นี่ก็เช่นกัน asks for,ขอ a toothpick. ไม้จิ้มฟันอีก He gets his เขาก็เอา toothpick ไม้จิ้มฟันให้ไป and off he goes. แล้วขี้เมาคนนั้นก็เดินจากไป
         There is ต่อมา a third knock ก็มีเสียงเคาะครั้งที่สาม at the door, ที่ประตูอีก and a third tramp.แล้วก็มีขี้เมาคนที่สามโผล่หน้ามา The landlord says, เจ้าของร้าน ก็บอกว่า "Don’t tell me, มึงอย่าบอกกูนะว่า you want มึงจะเอา a toothpick too." ไม้จิ้มฟันเหมือนพวกนั้นอีก ( ชักรมณ์เสียแล้ว...ผู้แปล)

            "No, ไม่ใช่หรอก a straw," ขอหลอดดูดอันนึงนะ says the tramp.ขี้เมาตอบ The landlord เจ้าของร้าน gives him a straw ก็เอาหลอดให้อันหนึ่ง but แต่ว่า is curious ชักสงสัยตะหงิดๆ as to why ว่าทําใม he wants it, มันถึงเอาหลอด so he asks ก็เลยถาม the tramp ไอ้ขี้เมาว่า why he wants ทําใมแกถึงเอา a straw หลอด and not a toothpick.ไม่เอาไม้จิ้มฟัน

           To which เจอคําถามนี้เข้า the tramp replies,ขี้เมาก็ตอบว่า "Some bloke มีใครไม่รู้ just threw up เพิ่งอ๊วก outside หน้าร้าน but แต่ว่า all the good stuff’s ของดีๆ already gone." ไปหมดแล้ว ( ขออนุญาต ต่อนิดหน่อย...เหลือแต่นํ้า..ผู้แปล)
