 นี่ก็เป็นอีกเรื่องหนึ่งของการทําพิธีศพของชาวคริสเตียน ที่เรียกว่า ยูโรจี้ อันเป็นการยกย่องคนตาย เพื่อให้พระเจ้าได้ยินจะได้รับไปอยู่สวรรค์ 

คนในศาสนาคริสต์ในต่างประเทศ จะโชคดีตอนเป็นๆ คือ คนจนมีรัฐสวัสดิการดูแลรักษาฟรี เด็กมีเงินเดือนกินไปเรียนหนังสือไปสารพัดเรียกว่า ไม่มีความยากจน มีกินมีใช้เหลือพอทุกคน..

....... แต่จะโชคร้ายกว่าคนไทยก็อีตอนตายไปแล้ว คือ ศาสนาคริสต์ไม่มี คัมภีร์วิเศษที่สามารถสวดให้คน หมูหมากาไก่เต่าจรเข้ไปสวรรค์หรือไปนิพพานได้โดยไม่มีข้อแม้ เหมือนคนไทย เรียกว่า โชคดีไปคนละแบบ มาดูว่า เรื่องนี้ไปอย่างไรมาอย่างไร

Brothers Mike and Seamus O’Malley are the two richest men in town and completed shites, both of them. They swindle the church out of its property, foreclose on the orphanage and cheat widows out of their last penny. One day Seamus up and dies and Mike pays a visit to the priest.
“Father,” he says, “my good name will be upheld in this town. You’ll be givin’ the eulogy for me brother and in that eulogy you are going to say “Seamus O’Malley was truly a saint.”
“I won’t do such a thing,” says the priest. “This would be a lie!”
“I know you will,” says Mike. “I hold the mortgage on the parish school and if you don’t say those words. I’ll foreclose.”
The priest is over a barrel. “And if I pledge to say those words.” he says, “then you’ll sign the note over free and clear?”
“Done,” cackles Mike and he signs over the note. Next morning at the funeral, the priest begins the eulogy.
“Seamus O’Malley was a mean-spirited, spiteful, penurious lying, cheating, arrogant and hateful excuse for a human beings” he says. “But compared to his brother, Mike, Seamus O’Malley was truly a saint.”

the two richest men in town สองพี่น้องที่รวยที่สุดในเมือง
 and completed shites, แล้วก็เป็นขี้ที่สมบูรณ์แบบ
( shites ใช้แผลงมาจาก shit ที่แปลว่าขี้)
both of them. ทั้งสองตัว
 They swindle ร่วมกันโกง
the church out of its property, ที่ดินของโบสถ์(ธรณีสงฆ์ประมาณนั้น)
foreclose รวบหัวรวบหางใช้กฏหมายยึดที่ที่เอามาจํานอง
 on the orphanage ของบ้านเด็กกําพร้า
and cheat widows แถมยังโกงแม่หม้าย
out of their last penny. จนหมดตัว( last penny ล๊าสท์ เพนนี คือเงินเพนนีสุดท้าย)
 One day วันหนึ่ง
Seamus up and dies ซีมุ๊ส ตื่นขึ้นมาแล้วก็ตาย
(ประโยคนี้สร้างภาพว่า ซีมุ๊ส ผงกหัวขึ้นมาแล้วก็ร้องอ๊ากก ตายลง..น่าจะเป็นหัวใจวาย ทํานองนั้น) 
and และ
Mike ไม๊ค
pays a visit to ก็ไปหา
 the priest. หาหลวงพ่อ
“Father,” หลวงพ่อครับ
he says, เขาพูด
“my good name ชื่อเสียงที่ดีของผม
will be upheld จะต้องได้รับการจารึกไว้เป็นเกียรติ
in this town.ในเมืองนี้
 You’ll be givin’ หลวงพ่อจะต้องเทศน์
the eulogy เทอดทูนเกียรติของคนตาย
for me brother สําหรับน้องชายของผม
and และ
in that eulogy ในการเทศน์เทิดทูนเกียรตินั้น
 you are going หลวงพ่อจะต้อง
to say พูดว่า
“Seamus O’Malley ซีมุ๊ส โอมัลลี่ 
was truly a saint.” คือผู้ใจบุญตัวจริงเสียงจริง
“I won’t do กูจะไม่พูด
 such a thing,” แบบนั้น
 says the priest. หลวงพ่อบอก
“This would be a lie!” แบบนี้เท่ากับโกหก
“I know you will,” ผมรู้ว่าหลวงพ่อจะต้องพูด
says Mike. ไม๊ค์บอก
“I hold the mortgage ผมถือใบจํานอง
on the parish school ของโรงเรียนแคโธลิก
( parish school = catholic school)
 and if  และถ้าหาก
 you don’t say หลวงพ่อไม่พูด
those words. คําเหล่านั้น
I’ll foreclose.” ผมจะใช้กฏหมายยึดมัน
The priest หลวงพ่อ
is over a barrel. หมดหนทางไป
( barrel หมายถึงลํากล้องปืน หรือถูกขู่ให้ตกอยู่ในอํานาจ  ) 
“And if และถ้าหาก
I pledge to say ฉันประกาศ
 those words.” คําพูดเหล่านั้น
he says, หลวงพ่อพูด
“then ถึงตอนนั้น
you’ll sign แกต้องเซ็นต์ชื่อ
the note over ลงไปในสัญญา
free and clear?” ปลดปล่อยให้เป็นอิสระไม่มีหนี้สินต่อกัน
“Done,” ตกลง
cackles Mike ไม๊ค์ หัวเราะแบบกวนตีน
and he และเขาก็
signs over เซ็นต์ชื่อลงไป
the note. ในใบจํานองนั้น
Next morning เช้าวันต่อมา
at the funeral, ที่พิธีศพ
the priest หลวงพ่อ
begins the eulogy. เริ่มกล่าวคําไว้อาลัยเทิดทูนผู้ตาย
“Seamus O’Malley ซีมุ๊ส โอมัลลีี่
was คือ
a mean-spirited, คือคนที่มีจิตวิญญาณเห็นแก่ตัว
spiteful, เจ้าเล่ห์โหดร้าย
 penurious lying, ขี้เหนียวขี้โกหก
 cheating, ขี้โกง
arrogant วางฟอร์มใหญ่โต
and hateful excuse และก็เป็นคนที่น่ารังเกียจชิงชัง
for a human beings” สําหรับเพื่อนมนุษย์
he says. หลวงพ่อบอก
“But compared to แต่เมื่ิอเปรียบกับ
his brother, พี่ชายของเขา
Mike, ไม๊ค์
Seamus O’Malley ซีมุ๊ส โอมัลลี่
was truly a saint.” ก็คือนักบุญอย่างแท้จริง
