Wrist Assessment
             A uni lecturer is wrapping up the final lecture before an exam.     

 

           “There are no excuses for not turning up to the exam,” he says.

 

           “Unless you’re in hospital or one of your family dies,

 

              I expect to see you there. No ifs, no buts.”
             One of the students raises his hand and says,

 

             “What about extreme sexual exhaustion?” he asks “Not good enough,” says his lecturer.

 

 “You can write with your other hand.”

Wrist  อ่านออกเสียงว่า ว -ริ๊สทึ ต้องอ่านเร็วๆ เน้นที่ตัว ร  แปลว่า ข้อมือ (wrist watch แปลว่า นาฬิกาข้อมือ)

 

Assesment อ่านว่า แอ๊สเซ๊สเม่น แปลว่า ตรวจสอบ หรือประเมิน เวลารถชนกัน ประกันภัยต้องมาทำการ ตรวจสอบ ก็เรียกว่า แอ๊สเซ๊สเม่น นักการเมือง เข้ารับตำแหน่ง ก็ต้องตรวจสอบทรัพย์สิน  ไปหาหมอ ก็ต้องตรวจสอบอาการ แต่ในเรื่องนี้ หมายถึง ตรวจสอบคุณภาพของมือ หรือข้อมือ

is wrapping up the final lecture กล่าวสรุป เป็นครั้งสุดท้าย

 

( wrapping up แปลว่าห่อ ห่อของขวัญ ก็เรียกว่า ว่า wrapping up Christmas gift  ลิเกฉากสุดท้าย ก่อนที่จะเก็บฉาก  ทำนองนั้น)

 

 

 

 before an exam. ก่อนที่จะสอบ ( ย่อมาจาก Examination)       

 

           “There are no excuses จะไม่มีข้อแก้ตัวใดๆทั้งสิ้น

 

 for not turning up สำหรับการไม่มา

 

to the exam,” เข้าสอบ

 

he says. อาจารย์บอก

 

           “Unless  ยกเว้นจาก

 

you’re in hospital เธอป่วยเข้าโรงพยาบาล

 

or one  of your family dies, หรือญาติคนใดคนหนึ่งตาย

 

              I expect ฉันหวังว่า

 

to see you there. จะได้เห็นทุกคนในห้องสอบ

 

No ifs, no buts.” ไม่มี คำว่า ”ถ้าหากว่า” หรือแต่ว่า

 

(ไม่มีข้อแม้อะไรทั้งนั้น)

 

            

 

One of the students หนึ่งในจำนวนนักเรียนนั้น

 

raises his hand and says, ยกมือขึ้น แล้วพูดว่า

 

 “What about แล้วไอ้นี่ละ

 

 extreme sexual exhaustion?” เพลียหนักทางเพศ

 

( extremely แปลว่าสุดๆ sexual นี่ก็รู้กันว่าทางเพศ exhaustion อ่านว่า เอ๊กซ๊อสชั่น ก็มาจาก fatigue เฟที๊ก  แปลว่าหมดแรง exhuast pipe ก็ท่อไอเสียรถยนต์นั่นเอง)

 

he asks ไอ้หนุ่มถาม

 

 “Not good enough,”  เหตุผลนี้ก็ยังใช้ไม่ได้

 

says his lecturer. อาจารย์บอก

 

 “You can เธอสามารถ

 

write with your other hand.” เขียนด้วยมืออีกข้างได้
